Welcome to the Minecraft National Build Challenge, a thrilling event that calls on students from schools across Australia to showcase their creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork skills. In partnership with Microsoft Australia, the Australian Esports League (AEL) is proud to present this captivating Minecraft Education Competition.

The competition spans four stages, starting at the school level and advancing to regional and national levels, culminating in the crowning of the ultimate National Champions. Participants will embark on an exciting journey, collaborating, experimenting, and critically thinking as they tackle the challenges presented within the game.

Open to students in teams of 2-4, the competition boasts three distinct pools for years 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12, ensuring that each group encounters themes tailored to their age and expertise. The themes encompass medieval architecture, eco-friendly living, and sustainable cities, igniting the imagination and ingenuity of the participants.

The journey unfolds through four stages: Designing & Planning, Building, Presentations, and External Judging. Key dates to remember are as follows: Registrations Close on August 10th, the Competition Begins on August 14th, Build Deadline on October 13th, Presentation Deadline on October 20th, and Winners Announced on October 30th.

With a focus on Minecraft Education Edition, the competition is accessible on various platforms, including PC, PS, Xbox, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. Students competing in teams will have a chance to win a national trophy, merit awards, and medallions for the top three placements, earning well-deserved recognition for their accomplishments.

Additionally, the AEL will feature the national leader board, celebrating the remarkable achievements of the participants. Exciting prizes await the contenders, with a gamer pack and other rewards from AEL partners up for grabs.

Registration costs $25 + GST per student, and schools are encouraged to register multiple teams to cultivate spirited internal competition.
